Chartered Account by day, cartoonist and Writer by night, passionate athlete at twilight and dutiful householder on weekends  There are people who make things for the Western markets and those who do the same for the Indian market. I make cartoons for an audience who are rooted culturally in India but who are spiritually agile enough to assume Western sensibilities - who swear by Quentin Tarantino AND David Dhawan / Bharathiraja in the same breath - I make cartoons for this audience - the INDIAN diaspora in INDIA !

  1. Ravishanker – that was hilarious!! I recently watched a short speech by Coundamani at an audio launch function where he said, “Ipo elaam Cinema paakravangala vida cinema-la nadikravanga jaasthi!” If you were to capture that sentiment in a cartoon, that would be awesome! Or, the fact that everyone with a phone becomes a reviewer in the movie theatre itself!

    1. Ram Murali : Thanks a Bunch ! Good one on Goundamani’s speech. He’s not off the mark. I saw this cartoon long back about a Carnatic music concert where the musician is distracted by the comments on Twitter about his concert…….WHILE THE CONCERT IS STILL GOING ON !!!

      1. Ravishanker – I just noticed “Perungudi Dumpyard” in the cartoon :)) ROFL!
I must spend more time on the cartoons so that I don’t miss these delicious little details! The first time I saw it, I missed “perungudi” which makes it extra hilarious!

  2. Ravishanker – sure thing. I actually printed your cartoon since I prefer seeing stuff on paper (orey oru maram ode orey oru branch thaan vetinaange to create this paper; sorry for not going ‘green!’) and tend to notice these things…superb detailing, I must say.
