MY CARTOON RETWEETED BY AL PACINO

al-pacino-retweet-dec-3rd16

I feel like the earthling in that painting by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel – One hand is raised towards the heavens and is met by another (heavenly) hand from Heaven – in a brief touch and the point at which the hands meet there is a small flash of light.

(You can replace the flash of light with  ‘twitter notification in my  gmail account’)

Would this have been possible thirty years ago ??!!

There is the story of this boy who kept writing to Charles Chaplin but never got  a reply.

After  many years he chanced to meet Chaplin in person and Charlie asked him “ That was you ? Why did you stop writing ??”

(Too bad the internet wasn’t around then)

Thank God I’m around in the age of the Internet !

I was floating over the moon for a day – then next day its  again back to the drawing board.

I make cartoons for an audience who are rooted culturally in India but who are spiritually agile enough to assume Western sensibilities - who swear by Quentin Tarantino AND David Dhawan / Bharathiraja in the same breath - I make cartoons for this audience - the INDIAN diaspora in INDIA !

    1. Anu Thank you so much ! Much appreciate your visits to my space. I did this particular one for my school fund raising effort. They were kicked out of by the Theosophical Society and had nowhere to go. And at today’s real estate prices its a battle to relocate elsewhere but thanks to a brave lady called Jayashree Nambiar (the principal) the fight is on……

  1. Mank : Thanks so much ! It was a pain to execute. I almost rubbed Brando’s eye off the page till you could see the table beneath 🙂

If Brando came out ok Pacino went for a toss and vice versa.
What gave me a big kick was that five of his followers also retweeted the cartoon.
